While reading an article about 100 facts about Steve Jobs and Apple, I ran across a parody link for Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs ceoSteveJobs on Twitter). I included some of the 100 Facts that I found interesting from the 100 facts below.
I can remember my parents and their Apple IIe, with the large floppy, flipping it over, and Print Shop, with Banner Sheet Paper! Amazing how things have changed from a technology stand point. Apple employees all receiving an iPhone in 2007 (wow), salary of $1, only 6 Board of Directors (including Al Gore), and income from Disney stock at $48M a year. While the salary is only a $1, the perks of the company far outweigh the measurement of such.
Highlights of the 100 Facts -
- The Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan (the cube) is said to be one of the most photographed landmarks in the world.
- Steve Jobs bought Pixar from George Lucas for $10 million and sold it to Disney for $7.6 billion.
- Nine U.S. states don’t have Apple stores: Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia and Wyoming.
- Steve Jobs bought Pixar from George Lucas for $10 million and sold it to Disney for $7.6 billion.
- Apple once disposed of 2,700 unsold Lisas in a Utah landfill. The computer originally sold at $10,000 each.
- The longest-lived Apple computer of all time was the Apple IIe, which was on sale for nearly 11 years.
- Apple didn’t sell a Windows-compatible iPod until nine months after the iPod was introduced.
- The time shown on all of the devices in pictures on Apple’s website is the same (9:41 a.m. for iOS devices and 10:50 a.m. for Macs). The time is coordinated with when the pictures will be shown during Steve Jobs’ keynote address.
- Steve Jobs’ largest parody Twitter account is @ceostevejobs.
- Steve Jobs pays himself an annual salary of $1.
- Steve Jobs’ annual income from Disney shares is $48 million.
- Steve Jobs has big feet, at size 14.
- Macs last an average of six years. PCs last an average of four years.
- The average PC owner spends 50 hours a year troubleshooting. The average Mac owner spends 5 hours a year.
- Teachers and students using Macs are found to be 44% more productive.
- When it was first released Steve Jobs gave every Apple employee a free iPhone.
- Apple began work on a touch-screen tablet before work began on the iPhone. The iPad wasn’t released until three years after the iPhone, however.
- The very first image shown on the Macintosh was of Disney character Scrooge McDuck.
- In 2010 Apple’s market cap exceeded Microsoft for the first time since 1989.

“…that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion, that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain, that this Nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” President Abraham Lincoln

Some humor is in this story, since it did not turn out bad, but relates to a sad topic of mental illness. Can you imagine passengers seeing a flight attendant being called satan (that may be priceless). Stanely Sheffield suffers from bi polar disorder, while on a flight he called out to a flight attendant as satan, sprayed others with water from the cart and tried to open the cockpit door. The article – “Ex-wife of Stanely Sheffield: ‘He needs help’” It took eight people to subdue Mr. Sheffield. On a previous flight out west – he was not allowed to reboard after a layover -
But there were other indications Stanley might have had trouble aboard a
plane. On his flight from Tampa out west, he was not allowed to
re-board the plane during a layover in Denver. Police were called to
the United terminal because of an incident between Sheffield and some
employees. Police did not make an arrest, instead helping Sheffield
find a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles.
As a frequent traveler and having someone close to me suffer from mental illness, I can understand many sides. Ultimately, in the air, regardless of mental state, a person can still do harm to a large amount of people. Imagine if he attempted to open doors of the plane or a variety of more extreme tasks. Flying may not be best suited for his future travelers if this is is a reoccurring theme.

Airport Check-in: Apple iPad can stay stashed at security – Flights: Airfare, flight tracker, delays, miles tracker & airport news – Today in the Sky – USATODAY.com.
Good News for travelers with the iPad. TSA will not require you to remove it from your carry on luggage. Important note of the article
“It’s important to remember, however, that our officers are trained to look for anomalies to help keep air travel safe, and if something needs a closer look, it will receive secondary screening,” the agency says. “The key to avoiding bag searches is keeping the clutter down.”
I have a collection of cords/chargers which often require my bad to be screened. I now take out the mesh bag and lay in a bin to get me through quicker.

Interesting approach to addressing the two different types of personalities of an Extravert vs. Introvert. It was a friendly reminder to me of the difference in learning/understanding approach between the two.

The week seems to be flying by, with the middle of the week already in front of us. I look forward to warm weather (hopefully) and maybe a little less rain this weekend.
The gym has been going good, out of 16 days, have gone 15 days. Working on the weights along with cardio has proven to be helpful in stress relief, and keeping me motivated. It’s 10pm, I need to head out, to be up at 04:50.

Broadway Across America is bringing ?Spring Awakenings? to cities around the US. After seeing it with the award winning cast (including the Glee star), Daniel, Erica, Lisa and I spent a night at the theatre a week ago. The performance was enjoyable as the first ones in NYC. The Fox Theatre has poor acoustics for performance and layout for shows like ?Spring Awakenings? in regards to blocking the stage with lights.
Very interesting ambiance with the stars above the audience, I must be very biased to the soundtrack and how much more upbeat and unison it sounds. A few scenes still hit home, and I will never forget the chills over my body when I experienced it in NYC with Victor and later with Sean…
