Chicago’s 32nd Annual Late Ride

I left for David’s house around 10:30pm, and we made it down to Belmont Habor at 11:15pm. Ryan joined us from that point, and we went down to Grant Park. The crowd in the beginning didn’t seem very large, but slowly the 9,000+ people began to assemble. Click on any of the pictures below to see a larger version!

Cycling Through Chicago, 50 miles RT, to the Southside

The new bike is working out well! Since picking up the bike I’ve gone 155 miles. I had a trip of 3 days since grabbing it on 7/3 so was limited. Last Saturday was my greatest accomplishment, I cycled 50.24 miles in 2 hours and 45 minutes. I went down to the end of the LakeShore Drive and returned home. I typically go 16 or more miles per day when home. This evening is the Late Ride ( www.lateride.org ) through Chicago with David. It begins at 11pm, with the actual ride starting at 1:30 am and ending around 5am, after 25 miles through the city. Here is the end of Lake Shore… off 71 / Lake Shore

From the South, this is the view along the ride back, about 20 minutes into the return trip.

For the rest of the day I was a little tired, but didn’t catch a nap. Slept great on Saturday, and was off riding on Sunday.
